Why We Built This Site
Iowa provides several public record routes, but each answers a different question. The Scott County Sheriff's Office maintains booking and warrant channels. The Clerk of District Court keeps filed charges, docket events, and dispositions. The Iowa Department of Public Safety, Division of Criminal Investigation, maintains the fingerprint-supported state repository. Corrections and registry information sit in still other systems. We bring the official contacts, request methods, fees that agencies publish, and access limits into a single Scott County reference.

What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site. It has no connection to an Iowa court, sheriff, police department, or state agency. Those limits mean we cannot:
- Issue a certified court document, rap sheet, or criminal record
- Run an official background check for a visitor
- Submit an expungement filing or public-record request on someone's behalf
- Give legal advice about a charge, warrant, judgment, or case
- Promise that an agency's hours, address, phone number, or fee has not changed
An official copy must come from the office that holds it, such as the sheriff, the court clerk, Iowa DCI, or another originating agency. This resource can identify that office but cannot supply the document.
